Small Towns, Big Dreams Tour To Feature Simmons
Monday, December 13, 2010 6:37 pm
A night of inspiration and passion, Small Towns, Big Dreams will feature live music from local sensation Stephen Simmons as well as guest speakers geared towards raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
"What I learned in a small town was that people bind together and care about each other,” said Coach Burt. “Although Stephen Simmons and I have been fortunate to travel the world our dreams were birthed in Cannon County and now it's time for us to partner to help a local cause in Juvenile Diabetes. My close friends Michael and Stacie Sellars along with Korie Aycock have children affected by diabetes. Help us help the cause by joining us in what will become an evening of inspiration."
Tickets are $25 with all proceeds going to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and includes a free copy of Coach Burt’s newly revised edition of This Ain’t No Practice Life.
Simmons, a Woodbury native, has toured all over the country and released his fifth album in five years last year titled Girls.
“As a Cannon County native, I’m really excited about coming back home for the first time to perform,” said Simmons. “I expect to see plenty of family and friends at the Arts Center. Coach Burt is an old friend and I know he shares my hope that this will be a big night and raise funds for a very worthy cause.”
