Sheriff Dept. Files Charges In Three Theft Cases



The Cannon County Sheriff’s Department has filed charges against three individuals allegedly involved in separate theft cases.

• Jimmy L. Driver, 1650 Simpson Rd., Woodbury was charged by Investigator Anthony Young with theft over $1,000 and criminal trespass on March 8. The theft charge resulted from Investigator Young’s investigation of the theft of a Cub Cadet lawnmower which occurred on August 16, 2010. The criminal trespass charge stems from an incident which took place on Jan. 6, at which time Driver allegedly entered and remained on the property of the victim without consent. Total bond was set at $3,500. Initial court date is May 8.

• Lucas Christopher Nemeth, 2696 Barfield Rd., Murfreesboro, was charged with theft of services on March 7 by Deputy Reed Bryson. According to the warrant, Nemeth took a GMC Duramax truck to Bean’s Diesel Performance to be worked on. After being told work as done and vehicle could be picked up after payment, Nemeth allegedly went to the business after hours and took the truck without making payment. Nemeth was also advised to pay the bill on March 3 and failed to do so. Bond was set at $2,500. Initial court date is April 5.

• Mercedez Lynn Zidley, 965 Durham Way, Stockridge, GA, was charged with theft under $500 by Deputy Brandon Gullett on March 1, the said property being a wallet and purse containing credit cards, driver’s licenses, Social Security, etc. Three other persons were charged last week in relation to this incident at a home on Hoover Road. Initial court date is May 3.
