Rogers St. Residents Charged With Driving Drunk

Two people recently charged with driving under the influence just happen to live on Rogers St.

• Dale Ray Mayo, 536 Rogers Rd., Woodbury, was charged with DUI and Violation of the Implied Consent Law on June 19 by Woodbury Patrolman Patrick Fann. Mayo was observed driving south on Hwy. 53 South and while doing so allegedly kept going over the dividing line. Mayo allegedly performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test. Bond was set at $1,500. Initial court date is Aug. 21.

• Mandi Jo Mathews, 109 Rogers St., Woodbury, was charged with DUI on June 11 by Woodbury Patrolman Patrick Fann. Mathews was reportedly seen driving after a call came in to Cannon County Dispatch that an allegedly intoxicated person was driving a blue Saturn. Mathews allegedly failed a field sobriety test. Bond was set at $2,500. Initial court date is July 17.

Other people charged in recent driving-related incidents include:

• Robert Earl Watley, 456 General Bragg Hwy., Beecghgrove, was charged with Driving While License Revoked 4th Offense and Speeding (75/55) on June 6 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Gullett. Deputy Gullett was sitting stationary on Jim Cummings Hwy. at Midway Church observing traffic when he clocked a vehicle traveling south at 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. After stopping the vehicle at Spry Rd. the driver, Watley, stated he didn’t have a driver’s license. After being taken into custody, Watley was also served an outstanding warrant for Worthless Check. Bond was set at $1,000. Initial court date is July 10.

• Donald Carl Southers, 7211 Ivy Bluff Rd., Morrison, was charged with Driving While License Revoked 2nd Offense on June 19 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Jordan McGee following a traffic stop on Short Mountain Highway in the Centerhill Community. Southers’ license returned revoked for DUI. Bond was set at $800. Initial court date is Aug. 7.

• Jose Demetrio Gutierrez Noredo was charged with Driving Without A License on June 3 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Travis Turney following a traffic stop on Short Mountain Rd. Bond was set at $1,500. Initial court date is July 10.

• Brock Elton Walker, 3019 Jim Cummings Hwy., Woodbury, was charged with Driving Without A License and was issued a warning citation for littering on June 9 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Jordan McGee. Deputy McGee was on patrol when he noticed a black El Camino pulling out of the parking lot of Cannon Tire heading inbound toward Woodbury on Highway 52. When the vehicle got up to speed, trash and papers started flying out of the bed of the truck and a cardboard box struck the front end of the deputy’s vehicle. After stopping the vehicle, Deputy McGee learned through Cannon County Dispatch that Walker did not have a valid driver’s license. He was issued release citations. Initial court date is Aug. 7.

• Stephanie Burton-Thompson, 2052 Petty Gap Rd., Woodbury, was charged with Driving While License Revoked on June 6 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Travis Turney on Jim Cummings Hwy. Bond was set at $1,000. Initial court date is Aug. 7.
