Roger Spry Announces for County Clerk

Roger Spry Announces for County Clerk
Hello, my name is Roger Spry and I am seeking the position of County Clerk. I have lived in Cannon County my entire life, being raised in the Midway Community and now living in the Ivy Bluff Community. My parents are Wanda Lee Spry and the late Johnnie Spry. I am married to Judy Heatherly Spry and together we have three children, Ashley, Austin and Amy.

I am a 1982 graduate of Cannon County High School, graduating in the top five of my class with perfect attendance all four years. I am also a 1986 graduate of MTSU with a major in Agriculture and a minor in Business Administration. I have farmed most of my life, currently managing my own business as a dairy farmer. In the last fifteen years, not only have I been a dairy farmer but have also worked in the public as well.

It has been a longstanding desire of mine to run the County Clerk’s Office. This idea has been weighing on my mind for the last several years, and I feel the time is right to pursue this desire. I feel that my attendance, business management and record keeping skills qualify me to run an organized and efficient office.

As with any newly elected position, I would like to present a few ideas that I feel would improve the efficiency of the Clerk’s Office. Some of my proposals are extended hours, especially on Fridays, having the ability to print titles in office, and having a debit/credit card machine for customer convenience. These are only a few of my ideas and I would like the citizens of Cannon County to submit suggestions that would make he County Clerk’s Office more accommodating to them. I can promise to provide fast, friendly, fair and courteous service to everyone and do as much of the work as possible myself.

I am asking for your vote and support. If elected on August 5, I will devote my full attention and time to being trained for this position so that I will be fully prepared when the office transition takes place in January. Thank you for considering me as your next County Clerk on August 5. I hope to visit as many of you as possible.
