Robert Donald "Bobby Don" Melton, 61, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Vanderbilt Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Melton was a resident of Woodbury and a Cannon County native. He worked as a Supervisor in Garment Mfg. and played sports and umpired in Cannon Co. He attended Prosperity Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Brother Thurman Seber and Brother Herb Alsup officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Gray Melton and Hilda Leoma Bell Melton, and a brother, John Melton.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Irma Adams Melton of Woodbury; four children, William (Melissa) Melton of Franklin, Craig (Julie) Melton of Murfreesboro, Robert Melton, Jr. of Gordonsville and Lori Melton of Woodbury; seven grandchildren, Rob, Dylan, Greyson, Addie, Noah, Grey and Sabrina; three sisters, Patsy (Billy) Reeder of Watertown, Katherine (Dwight) Sadler of Prosperty Community, Deloris Morris of Auburntown and a sister-in-law, Rachel Melton of Auburntown.
