Robert "Bob" Martin Ross, Sr., 77, died November 1, 2014 of an extended illness. He was born on August 05, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan. His parents were the late George and Ester Shelters Ross of Hialeah, FL.
Bob grew up in Hialeah, Fl. where he met his future wife, Marian. He enlisted in the Navy Reserves right after high school and was in for 8 years. He was a sheet metal worker for 30 years before being injured. He later worked for the Broward County School Board as an on site repairman until he retired. They moved to Woodbury in 2000, where they retired to a small farm. He liked to go to auctions, loved antique hunting, riding his tractor but mostly enjoyed talking with anyone he met.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Marian Peavey Ross. Daughter and Son-in-law, Terry and Randy Gerdes of Woodbury and Son, Robert "Bobby" Ross, Jr. of Woodbury; grandchildren, Craig Ross of Auburntown, Matthew (Lauren) Gerdes of Milton, TN., Christin (Brandon) Duncan of Woodbury, Kaitlynn (Alex Bazinain) Gerdes of Mackinac Island, Michigan, Patrick (Taylor) Gerdes of Monroe, WI.; great grandchildren, Hunter Duncan, Thalia Gerdes, Callie Gerdes, Bryce Duncan; Sister, Eunice Russell of Orange City, FL., Betty (Mario) Martinez of Miami Springs, Fl., Brother, Bill (Ruth) Ross of Oklahoma City, OK.; Brothers-in-law, and Sisters-in-law, Bernard and Carol Peavey of Lake City, FL., Jim and Anne Peavey of Douglas, GA., Dee Peavey of Ahoskie, NC. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, special family member, Cliff Freiberg of Newberry, FL.
A private family service was on Sunday, November 2, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association is requested.
