Roadside Safety Checkpoint planned July 24

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Driver License and/or Sobriety Checkpoints Friday, July 24, 2009 on State Routes 53, 64, and 146 in Cannon County.

Recognizing the danger presented to the public by drivers operating motor vehicles under the influence and unqualified drivers, Troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who would violate the DUI laws and the driver license laws of Tennessee.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found these roadside safety checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing the DUI laws and driver license laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
