Today, I am announcing my candidacy for re-election as County Commissioner in the 1st district of Cannon County.
My name is Russell Reed. I am a life long resident of the 1st district. My parents are Mildred Reed and the late Thomas Reed. I have been married for the last 26 years to Mary Sauls Reed. I am the proud father of Brittney Reed, who serves as a Librarian at Smyrna Library.
I am the co-owner and operator of Russell’s Market in Readyville and come from a family that has been active in the political arena for many years, beginning with my grandfather, Mr. Becton Reed. I have proudly served the county for the last four and have proudly served the county for the last four years. I have always voted on the issues with the people of Cannon County’s best interest in mind. My votes have not always been with the majority, but they were always cast with the residents of the county in mind.
I will always try my best to avoid wasteful spending of the taxpayers hard earned money. I have an open door policy. If anyone needs to reach me, I can be found at Russell’s Market six days a week or by phone at 563-4340. If I am not there, I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can.
