Beginning April 12, the Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross will be holding new volunteer orientation at 6 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month at 501 Memorial Blvd.

During the approximately one hour-long meeting, area residents who are interested in becoming American Red Cross volunteers can receive information on how to join the team that has served Rutherford County through fires and other disasters for nearly a century.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Response/Disaster Services - Disaster Action Team (DAT)

• Mass Care or Logistics

• Client Services

• Public Affairs

• Disaster Health Services

• Disaster Mental Health

The Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross provides vital emergency assistance to help victims of local disasters in Rutherford, Bedford, Cannon, Franklin, Coffee & Moore counties.
