John, Kim and Callie Francis spent a few days relaxing at Floating Mill Park. Ernest and Rita spent some time with them enjoying a relaxing time.

Gulf Shores, AL was the destination for a week of splashing in the ocean for Tim, DeAnna, Alayna and Adrianna Reed, Ryan and Janna Womack and Case Isenhart. Friends, Alan, Lesa, Bailey and Garrett Hayes joined them to make it a bigger party!

Ray Patrick underwent surgery Wednesday. The surgery went almost as expected - just a couple of inches more than originally thought but he is doing well at the time of this writing (Wednesday afternoon).

Our sympathy to Gearline Jones and other family members on the recent death of her brother, Melvin George. He passed away at the age of 59 following a lengthy illness.

It's almost here - RED APPLE DAYS! Beginning Friday night and taking place all day Saturday.

Be sure to bring your lawn chairs, sit back and enjoy good Gospel singing on Friday night and all of the events set for Saturday. There will also be some good food and crafts available to enjoy.

Girls and Ladies, get your best dress ready and enter the Miss Red Apple Days Pageant for ages 3-20 divided into appropriate divisions.

There is also an event for dog lovers - get him/her all gussed up and show him/her off.

Now if you're a car lover, there's an event for you and it's a cruise in so clean'er up and show'er off.

Do you run? Then come early Saturday morning for the annual Lion's Club 5K run.

Somewhere around noon, a parade takes place so it appears there's something for everyone - young and old.

The festivities will end Saturday night with live music and some favorite bands from the area. So come on and enjoy.

Hosting Red Apple Days is our local volunteer fire department. They are working hard to make this one of the best.

It's birthday time again and beginning the list this week is Matthew Turney who turns 22 on the 20th. Garland Gilley, Ethan Bryson, Hunter Patterson and Inez Hale all celebrate the 21st. Ashley Kress turns 26 on the 22nd. Kathy King and Misty Melton celebrate the 23rd. Lauryn Crawley enters her teens on the 24th. Patsy Hamilton Vanatta gets to celebrate her day on the 25th and winding up the week is Kayla Hickey on the 26th. Happy birthday you all.

Happy anniversary to Anthony and Paul Leach who celebrate the 20th.
