Readyville Man to Face Jury

A Readyville man will face a jury of his peers on Thursday. Joseph D. Moore was charged in May of 2009 with the offense of failure to appear when he allegedly did not report to Cannon County Circuit Court on March 13, 2009.
Moore was supposed to be in Court on a violation of probation but, according to the indictment filed in the case, Moore didn't show up.
Moore was found guilty of the violation of probation charge by Chancellor Robert E. Corlew, III and was ordered to serve his entire prison sentence. Moore is represented by Murfreesboro Lawyer Luke Evans and the State of Tennessee is represented by Assistant District Attorney David Puckett.
Jurors will be expected at the Cannon County Courthouse at 9:00 p.m. for for jury selection.
Judge Don Ash will be presiding over the case, which is not expected to last longer than a day. Failure to appear is a class E Felony that carries a maximum prison sentence of 1-6 years.
