I would like to take this opportunity to announce as a candidate for the Office of County Executive.

I have been happily married to the fabulous Mrs. Anna for forty years and we have two wonderful children, Lisa, our oldest, and Jason, owner of JP’s Fine Swine Bar-B-Que.

As many of you know the economy has been very slow for the past two years. Many have lost jobs and have taken lesser jobs than they would like. Our tax base has grown smaller over this time to the lowest level in a long time.

If elected to this important position, I pledge to work hard to get new businesses to locate to Cannon County. This will not only help create jobs, but will also help bring in much needed revenue to operate the County Government.

Most people must go to neighboring counties to purchase their needs. We must have in place the business infrastructure in this county to increase sales tax and property tax revenue to be able to provide basic county services.

I come from a business background where I was sent to operations that were failing to meet sales and operating projections. It was my job to turn these operations around in a short amount of time to be profitable. I know how to make the tough decisions to get things up and running again.

If you choose to elect me for this job I will bring this ability to the Office of County Executive for the good of all. Give me this opportunity for one term and if I have not made a difference in the operations of this county, then unlike other elected officials, I will not burden you any further.

I would also like to remind all registered voters and all those that need to be registered that it will be YOU that will make a difference in how the county government is operated. I urge all citizens to register to vote and then to exercise that right at the poles on August 5th and cast a vote for your future.

There will be a pancake breakfast fund raiser for my campaign at Westside Grammar School on Saturday, June 5 starting at 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Please come and meet me there as well as other candidates for office.
