Hello from ... Northern Iraq, 11:30 p.m. and another sleepless night. I haven't slept well since we arrived in country, but now I think it's due to excitement. There are 21 days left in November so that means I will be home very soon.

Life at FOB Sykes is going well, and we have had beautiful weather, 80's sunshine and breeze, almost like the weather TN has had the past few days. The mission is well underway, and the holidays are approaching. Just a reminder, packages intended for Christmas must be mailed no later than November 27th.

The soldiers spirits are up, and we are so looking forward to the spring. 2010 is going to be a wonderful year for us. As we are wrapping up this mission, and finishing this deployment, I am asking that you keep the 278th TN National Guard Soldiers in your prayers, as they are getting ready for deployment in just a couple of weeks. Prayer is the best gift you can give a soldier!

Veteran's Day is fast approaching, please take time to thank a veteran, or listen to their stories, you might learn a thing or two.

Thank-you for all your support, thoughts, prayers and care packages, oh and the DIET MTN DEW!!! Your support has been amazing and I am so thankful for each of you.

As I close my email tonight, I am asking a special prayer for the recent lives that were lost way too soon, my son's friend, a freshmen in HS, and also a former classmate of mine. My friend Jessica said it best"God only takes the BEST", and I truly believe that.

Until Next Week........

God Speed,
