Plans coming together for Princess Ball

Plans are coming together for the 8th annual Princess Ball hosted by the Woodbury Lions Club on April 24 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Cannon County Senior Center.

The Princess Ball is a great event that has grown so much in attendance this year it is moving out of the Lions Clubhouse and into the larger Senior Center so no one has to be turned away at the door.

The event is open to young ladies 18 and under with their fathers or father figures such as step-fathers, grandfathers, uncles and older brothers. Escorts must be 18 years or older. There will be an evening of music, good food and great fun.

Registration deadline is April 17 for discount tickets. Cost until the deadline is $25 per couple plus $10 for each additional "princess" in attendance which means before April 18, a father of three daughters can take all of them for the price of $45 ($25 + $10 + $10). After the 17th cost goes up to $35 per couple plus the $10 for each additional princess.

Registration forms can be dropped off at Woodbury Funeral Home or mailed to Cliff Swoape at 221 College Street, Woodbury, TN 37190.
Heading up the project are Lions Korie Loftus, Cliff Swoape, Katherine Mangione-Swoape, Lois Larimer, Bruce Steelman, Andy Jacobs, Kitty Bush, Barbara Parker, Carolyn Motley, John Basinger, Sue Patrick, Austin Jennings, Mike JenSnings, Steve Smith, or Gina Mitchell. Lions Club volunteers are being sought to help with food, decorations and serving.

This is a wonderful event that forms lasting memories for the young ladies and their father figures. Come be part of something great and positive in a world filled with the bad and depressing. Come help us make a girl feel like a princess for the evening and her father figure the king of the world.
