Piggin' Round winners announced

The Hilton Stone American Legion Post 279 Kansas City Bar-B-Q Cookoff was a great success this year. Next year, 2013, the 'Piggin' Around Bar-B-Q Event will be a fully licensed and sanctioned Kansas City Bar-B-Q Cookoff. This means that the big boys will be competing for the prizes. Our goal is to make this event a permanent event for Cannon County.
The winners for 2012 are:
GRAND CHAMPION: Buckeye Bar-B-Q, Columbia, TN.
RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION: Midnight Smokers, Mt. Juliet, TN.
1st Prize: T's Custom Smokers, Pleasant View, TN.
2nd Prize: Stuff N' Thangs, McMinnville, TN.
3rd Prize: Smokin-N-Turnin, Clarksville, TN.
4th Prize: 'Butts-A-Blazin', Rockvale, TN.
5th Prize: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Webers, Murfreesboro, TN.

American Legion Post 279 meeting
The Hilton Stone American Legion Post 279 will host a special presentation by the Vet Center Readjustment Counseling Service at their November 15, 2012, meeting; at the Senior Citizens Center in Woodbury.
Dinner will be served at 5:45 PM (cost $5.00). The meeting starts at 6:30 PM, and is open to all veterans.
The Vet Center program was established by Congress in 1979 out of the recognition that a significant number of Vietnam Veterans were still experiencing readjustment problems. Today over 250 Vet Centers across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Guam serve ALL combat veterans and their families. Services provided: Individual Readjustment Counseling, Group Meetings and Counseling, Military Sexual Trauma Counseling, Bereavement Counseling, Marital and Family Counseling, Employment Counseling and Guidance, Benefits Assistance and Referral, Substance Abuse Information and Referral, Community Education, and Liaison with Community Agencies. Come and join us. The Vet Center folks will address all of your questions and concerns.
