A limited number of reprints of the very popular Pictorial History of Cannon County has been received and are now available as long as the supply lasts. The book was first published by the Cannon County Historical Society in 1995.

It's 544 pages contain 2000 photos of families, people, places and other historically interesting subjects as well as identification and vital statistics of the subjects in the photos. The book is the result of more than 2 years of research by the publications committee of the society headed by Austin and Carmine Jennings.

Several weeks ago the historical society announced that the reprints could be ordered prior to their publication at $95 each. The luck people who took advantage of this offer have now received their books, or they may be picked up at Smith Funeral Home. The remaining supply of the reprints are now being offered at $125 each.

"These books would make an ideal Christmas present for the entire family," Joe Daniel Davenport, president of the historical said in announcing the availability of the remaining books. "They have been out of print for three years or more and demand for copies has driven the price up to over $150 for books from the original printing," Davenport added.

"These reprints are exact copies of the original, printed on the finest heavy glossy paper and in a first class library binding," he concluded.

The reprints are available at Smith Funeral Home, Adams Memorial Library and the Arts Center. Copies will be mailed upon the receipt of $130 which includes shipping and handling. All orders should go to Cannon County Historical Society, c/o Smith Funeral Home, 303 Murfreesboro Road, Woodbury, TN 37190.
