Perfect Timing: Snow Predicted Wednesday, Thursday
Email Print
It's only a matter of coincidence, but it could also be perfect timing for the Cannon County Board of Education.

On the agenda for Thursday's meeting of the Board at Woodland School is a list of possible make-up dates for school days missed because of snow.

If it snows Wednesday and early Thursday, as weather forecasters are predicting, Thursday could be the 10th day of the calendar year schools are closed because of adverse conditions created by weather.

There are 11 snow days built into the calendar, and there is still over a month of winter to go.

WEATHER BULLETIN:

Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 PM Wednesday to 6 am CST Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 3 PM Wednesday to 6 am CST Thursday.

* Geographic area: locations on and near the Cumberland Plateau.

* Timing: late Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night.

* Accumulations: 1 to 3 inches.

* Impacts: roads will become snow covered and slick.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
