Over $10,000 In Gold Jewelry Reported Stolen

The Cannon County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the reported theft of over $10,000 in jewelry.

The theft apparently took place at a home on Petty Gap Rd. between July 3 and July 9, when the homeowner was away from the residence.

Missing items include a 3 ½ karat yellow gold ring with diamonds valued at $4,000, a 4 ½ karat gold wedding band valued at $4,000, a men’s white gold ring valued at $2,500 and a men’s yellow gold ring valued at $1,500.

The owner did not report the theft until July 27. Deputy Steve McMillen indicated in his report that the victim was attempting to find out what happened to the jewelry on their own before making a report to law enforcement.

The victim also reported that while in Parsley’s Market after the incident, the brother of a possible suspect was observed to be wearing the shorts of a relative, which were also taken during the burglary.

Sheriff’s Investigator Anthony Young said the case is under investigation and anyone with information about a suspect or suspects and the missing jewelry should contact the sheriff’s department.
