On Display: Photography by Angela Ford

The photographic works of Angela Ford is now on display at the Berger Gallery at the Arts Center of Cannon County.

Angela's love for photography started as a teenager when her mother let her use a Polaroid camera. She was amazed to watch pictures develop before her eyes. To her, taking pictures and capturing precious moments are just that: precious. She learned how exciting action shots were when she captured one of her sons in mid-air diving into a pool. Angela purchased photo editing software, but she wanted more.

She decided it was time to go professional. She enrolled in New Horizons Computer School in Nashville, TN and took their Adobe classes. While restoring pictures, she realized she was becoming an artist. She is very detail oriented and therefore takes many hours to restore photographs. She has restored photographs taken as early as the late 1800's.

In 2008 Angela realized she could become a photographer herself. She purchased a Nikon camera on a Thursday, went to Paris Landing State Park the following weekend, entered their fall photo contest and won second place. Angela has taken headshots of actors and actresses plus photographed their performances.

When you look at her pictures you might notice they are like Angela: colorful, simple, bold, and upfront. Her theme for 2017 is Nature with an emphasis on Wildflowers. Each flower has a black and white background, which make the colors pop.

You're cordially invited to Angela's opening reception on March 17, 2018, 6 p.m. The reception will be catered by Chef's Kitchen featuring Raymond Daugherty.

RSVP to AngelaFordPhoto@gmail.com, only if you want to eat.

The Berger Gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm. Admission is free.
