Mrs. Linda Retter, 60, of Woodbury passed away on October 9, 2017. She was born in Danbury, Connecticut on January 18, 1957. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Lee Reiske and Alice Snopkoski Reiske.

She is survived by her husband, Henry "Buddy" Retter, sons, Jesse Blue Retter of Woodbury and Michael Macy Retter of New Milford, CT; daughter, Chrissy (Jared) Cowgen of Brookefield, CT; brothers, Richard (Robin) Reiske, Amenia, NY, Ronald (Laura) Reiske of Brookefield, CT; sister, Pat (Paul) Freeman of Naples, FL; five grandchildren, Abigail, Eleanor, Marlee, Jasee, and Laney; as well as many other relatives and close friends.

Mrs. Linda was a passionate person about many things in her life. If you were her friend she would do almost anything for you. She would speak her mind and had a great sense of humor which she got from her father and passed on to her family. After graduating high school, she earned a degree to become a paralegal.

She worked many years in Connecticut for an attorney and was proud of her work. She loved her family and friends. She was a social person who enjoyed talking and joking with everyone. Going boating at Center Hill Lake and at Candlewood Lake, CT were two places she enjoyed. One of her other passions was animals.

She would often help find homes for strays and would adopt many of them herself. She and Henry also enjoyed horseback riding and motorcycles. She was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ.

A visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 2-6 pm. A memorial service will follow in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Daniel Hayes will officiate.
