NWS to determine if twister touched down

The National Weather Service will survey areas in Cannon County Thursday to determine if a tornado touched down early Wednesday.

The survey is expected to include an area off of Doolittle Road including Roach Hollow Road and Valley View Drive. The NWS will also probably consider an area on the Old Murfreesboro Road at New Hope Church of Christ.

Several tornadoes touched down in Middle Tennessee overnight. The National Weather Service said an EF-0 tornado uprooted and twisted trees near the Fairview Plantation area of Gallatin. A EF-O tornado was also confirmed in southern Dickson and Cheatham Counties.

 The National Weather Service earlier confirmed an EF-2 tornado in Mt. Juliet overnight damaging an automotive business and warehouse,  along with damage at other businesses and homes.
