Two women were issued citations recently after they were stopped while allegedly on their way to Stones River Hospital.

Woodbury Patrolman Chris Brown initiated a traffic stop on Lester St. on April 16. The driver of the vehicle, Mary Beth Pomeroy, 2238 Hollis Creek Rd., Woodbury, did not have a driver’s license.

A passenger, Martha Elizabeth Newingham, same address, who is the owner of the vehicle, was charged with Allowing An Unlicensed Driver To Operate A Motor Vehicle.

Newingham told Patrolman Brown she asked Pomeroy to drive her to the hospital. However, according to the officer’s report, they were going in the opposite direction.

Both are scheduled to appear in Cannon County General Sessions Court on May 8.
