Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve McMillen responded to a single vehicle crash on April 17 at 4404 Big Hill Road.

Upon arrival he spoke with the driver, Nora Morales, of 130 Vandergriff St., Dowelltown. Morales stated she was traveling south on Big Hill Road when she failed to negotiate a right hand curve that was wet, causing the vehicle to skid out of control and strike a fence and cattle gate.

Morales was unable to provide a current driver’s license or proof of vehicle insurance. A check of her license found it was suspended for failure to have insurance.

Morales was issued citations for the two offenses. She also made arrangements with the property owner to pay for the damage to the gate.

Her initial court date is May 29.
