David Lee Vanatta, 57, died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at his home following a short illness.

He was a resident of Woodbury and native of DeKalb Co. A member of the Sycamore Baptist Church, he was an employee of Woodbury Farmers Co-op.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Davenport Vanatta of Woodbury; three children, Tracy Vanatta of Jacksonville, FL, Danny (Jo Ann) Vanatta of Dowelltown and Vanessa (Vince) Shrum of Woodbury; three grandchildren, Dusty Vanatta, Corey Sherman and Rebekka Shrum; five sisters, Peggy Bissonette, Linda Davis and Carolyn Neal, all of Smithville, Pam Rice and Crystal Lloyd, both of Smyrna; sister-in-law, Judy Vanatta of Smithville; and step-mother, Josephine Vanatta of Smyrna. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 with Bro. Richard Williams officiating. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery.

Visitation will be from Noon until 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, at the funeral home.
