PrintJudge Susan Melton presided over Cannon County General Sessions Court on Tuesday, June 11. The results of some of the cases on the docket are as follows:
Shane E. Snider was ordered to serve 120 days in jail after pleading guilty to DUI third offense. He was fined $1,100, assessed court costs and his license was revoked for six years, He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and was placed on probabtion for 8 months, 29 days.
Jason Alton Couch pleaded guilty to DUI first offense. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and ordered to serve 20 days in the Cannon County Jail, which he has served, He was fined $350, assessed court costs, and his driver's license was revoked for one year.
William D. Dawson was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days on a charge of DUI first offense. He had entered a guilty plea on April 4, He was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days, ordered to serve 48 hours in the Cannon County Jail, given credit for two hours served, assessed a fine of $350, and ordered to pay court costs. His license was revoked for one year,
Deanna Swank Denny pleaded guilty to DUI first offense. She was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and was placed on probation for 11 months, 19 days, She was sentenced to 10 days in the Cannon County Jail, which she has served. She was fined $350, assessed court costs and will lose her driver's license for one year. Denny also pleaded guilty to violation of probation. She was ordered to serve 19 days in jail, which she has served. She was placed on probation for 11 months, which will run consecutive to the DUI probation.
Deborah Elaine Smithson pleaded guilty to driving while license revoked, She was given a six-month partially suspended sentence and placed on probation for an equal amount of time. She was ordered to serve 48 hours in jail, pay a $50 fine and assessed court costs. She was also lose her driver's license for a period of time to be determined by the state.
Joseph M. Starnes was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days for driving while license suspended (second offense) and placed on probation for an equal amount of time, He was fined $50, assessed court costs and will lose his driver's license for a period of time to be determined by the state.
Justin Lee Todd agreed to revocation on a charge of violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 60 days in jail, 18 of which he has served, His probation was extended for 20 months, 28 days.
Amanda Young had her probation extended for 8 months, 22 days after agreeing to revocation for probation violation. She was also sentenced to 11 days in jail, which has been served,
John Nunley pleaded guilty to two counts of passing worthless checks. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and placed on probation for 11 months, 22 days. He was given credit for seven days time served and ordered to pay restitution to the victims and court costs,
Mitchell Elliott Blackstone agreed to revocation on a probation violation charge, His probation was extended for 23 months, 24 days and he was ordered to pay all court costs and fines.
Margaret Renee Pollard was placed on judicial diversion on charges of simple possession and possession of marijuana, On one count she was ordered to serve 34 days in jail and was credited with 34 days time served, She was also fined $750 and assessed court costs. On the second count she was finded $250, She was placed on probabtion from July 11, 2017 to June 10, 2018,
Randy Donald Chandler pleaded guilty to driving without a license. He received a six-month suspended sentence and was placed on probation for an equal amount of time. He was fined $25 and ordered to pay court costs,
Mandy Shea Blythe agreed to an order of retirement for 11 months, 29 days on a charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, She admitted to being guilty. Her case will be reviewed on Oct. 31.
Ray D. Wimberly entered into an agreed order or retirement for 11 months, 29 days after admitting to being guilty to a domestic assault charge. He was also ordered to pay court costs,
Carl Leo Roberts Jr. agreed to pay $500 restitution and to forfeit a weapon to the Cannon County Sheriff's Department on a charge of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
Nicholas Beaumont St. Cyr pleaded guilty to driving in the wrong lane and was given a 30-day suspended sentence, placed on probabtion for an equal amount of time, fined $25 and assessed court costs,
Noah Wesley Harris agreed to a six-month order of retirement on a charge of unlawful removal/alteration of a registration tag. He was also assessed court costs.
Leatha D. Burton, charged with possession of schedule VI drugs and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, had her case continued until Aug. 22.
James D. Hale had his case reset for Sept. 5 after stating he would be hiring an attorney. He is facing schedule VI drug charges.
Ralph Martin was appointed an attorney and his case was reset for Sept. 5. He is charged with domestic assault, tampering with evidence and resisting.
Daniel Luther Riggin had a charge of domestic assault reset for Sept. 5.
Michael D. Roller had drug, driving while license revoked and speeding charges reset for Aug. 1 after stating he planned to hire an attorney.
Brandon William McCoy had his assault charge reset for Aug. 29.
Jeffrey David Stanfield had a charge of assault continued until Aug. 29.
Lindsey A. Sullivan was appointed an attorney and had charges of domestic assault and resisting continued until Aug. 15.
Richard D. Wilson was appointed an attorney and had drug, driving while license suspended and finanancial responsibility law charges reset for Aug. 1.
Shannon Tyler Babich was appointed an attorney and had DUI and drug paraphernalia charges reset for Aug. 1,
Shannon M. Fox (aka Barlow) was appointed an attorney had her DUI first offense case was continued until Oct.17.
James Nicholas Barrett's charges of domestic assault and theft were reset for Aug. 19.
Lynikal L. Bennett had a theft charge reset for Aug, 1,
Robert Edward Bryson had a probation violation charge reset for Sept. 5.
Stephanie Ann Casey's provation violation charge was reset for Aug, 8.
Tasha Leanne Evans had a probation violation charge reset for Aug. 8,
McKenzie Rae Franks had a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor continued until Aug. 15.
Donald Lee Curlee had charges of DUI second offense, failure to stop, render and give information and violation of the financial responsibility law reset for Aug. 8.
Joshua Coty Gilley had drug possession, drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, driving will license revoked, reckless driving and other motor vehicle violation charges continued until Aug. 8,
Jaylon Hugh Greene had a charge of underage driving while impaired reset for Sept. 12,
Thomas R. Hendershot had charges of DUI second offense, drug possession, drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, criminal littering, open container and violation of the financial responsibility law continued until Aug. 15.
Travis Leigh Laxton was appointed an attorney and had a simple possession/casual exchange charge reset for Aug. 1.
Tequilla Mounet Miller had a theft charge reset for Sept. 5.
Kenneth R. Mooneyham had aggravated criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct charges scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 9.
Jesse Pate's charge of domestic assault was reset for Sept. 12,
Carl Anthony Reed's probation violation charge was reset for Oct. 31.
Victor Lamar Smith had multiple charges including evading arrest, sexual battery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession without a prescription and contempt of court rescheduled for July 18.
Gregory Matthew Speck had charges of burglary, theft and vandalism continued until Aug. 8,
Billie Michaela Vanderpool had charges of burglary, theft and vandalism continued until Aug. 8.
