Funeral services for Sally Ann Smith, 83, of Riverview, Florida were held Saturday, June 10 at the Bell Shoals Funeral Home in Brandon, FL.

Mrs. Smith passed away on Wednesday, June 7. She was a native of Cannon County, TN and daughter of the late Hayden Smith and Lillian Higgins Smith Wallace (who passed away in July 2015 at the age 103). Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Pascal Smith.

Sally and Nancy were raised in a newspaper family. For many years their father, Hayden, owned and operated the Cannon Courier. He was well known and respected by everyone who knew or came in contact with him through the Courier. The "Smith" girls were raised in the big white house now owned by Charlie and Dell Harrell and sits on the corner of West High and College Streets. It was a familiar gathering place in Woodbury for ball games and other activities during their childhood and school years at Woodbury Central High.

Survivors include her sister, Nancy Griner of Hoover, AL; her children, Beverly (Al) Fisch and Hayden (Wendy) Smith, all of Florida; grandchildren, John-Henry Fisch, Meaghan Smith and Nicholas Smith and many nieces, nephews and friends. Cousins in Tennessee include Andy and Hayden Bryson, Susan Sain, all of Woodbury and Jane Powers of Crossville.

Mrs. Smith was a charter member of the Bell Shoals Church of Christ, she was a 25 Year Volunteer at Brandon Regional Hospital, and was never seen without wearing a bracelet. Sally loved to read, play solitaire and most of all, her family.
