Mrs. Mazle Duggin Campbell, age 92, of the Wheel Community of Bedford County, died Saturday evening, April 1, 2017 in Shelbyville, Tennessee. A native of Cannon County, she was a daughter of the late Houston and Gertie Davenport Duggin. Mrs. Campbell was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Sam Dudley Campbell, Sr., who died in 2012, two sisters and three brothers.

A graduate of Woodbury High School, Mrs. Campbell worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Kingman, Arizona Army Air Field during World War II. She later received her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in education from Middle Tennessee State College. Her 35 year teaching career began in Dalton, Georgia before teaching first grade at Southside Elementary in Shelbyville for 28 years. She was a member of Shelbyville First United Methodist Church, teaching the Kindergarten Sunday School Class for many years.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Davenport, Guntersville, AL; two step-sons, John (Sarah) Campbell, Lewisburg, TN, Sam (Regina) Campbell, Jr., Wheel Community.; granddaughter, Mary Campbell (Michael) Batson; grandson, Sam Riley Campbell; several nieces and nephews

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Doak-Howell Funeral Home, Shelbyville, TN. Visitation with the family will also be on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Shelbyville First United Methodist Church, 122 Public Square, Shelbyville, TN.. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am on Wednesday at Shelbyville First United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at 2:30 pm at Riverside Cemetery in Woodbury, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shelbyville First United Methodist Church, 122 Public Square, Shelbyville, TN 37160 or to the Southside School Library, 903 South Cannon Blvd, Shelbyville, TN 37160.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hearts Remembers and Alive Hospice for their compassion and care.
