A.J. Reed

A.J. Reed, age 92, passed away after a brief illness at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, MO, on March 31, 2016. He was a native of Cannon Co.

He is survived by his wife, Madeline Reed; and four children, Judy (Curt) Simpson, Patricia (Jay) Ferguson, Barbara (Jim) Dyer, and Terry (Dorothea) Reed.

Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Becton & Jessie Reed; five siblings; and a son, Gerald Reed.

A Veteran of the United States Army, he served in the Philippines during World War II. He was retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company.

He was a child of God, serving him as a Southern Baptist Interim Minister in Central Illinois. At the end, he was surrounded by four generations of his loving family.

Visitation with the family will be from 3 PM to 4 PM Friday, April 8, 2016 at Woodbury Funeral Home. Memorial services will be 4 PM Friday, April 8, 2016 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Casner officiating. Interment will follow in the Milton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
