Carol Ann Althen

Miss Carol Ann Althen, 65, of Woodbury died Dec. 12, 2009 in Manchester, TN. She was born Sept. 2, 1944 in Buffalo, NY. Her parents were the late Elijah J. Althen and Olive C. (Osaida) Althen.

She is survived by a brother, Charles Althen of New York; a niece, Charlotte & Ken Marx of Woodbury; great niece and great nephew, Elizabeth Whaley and Kenneth Marx III, great great niece and nephew, Taylor Whaley and Kaleb Whaley and by an aunt, Gertude Saint.

Miss Althen loved spending time with her family, walking her puppies, listening to music and playing solitaire. She was described as a true spirit and was always happy.

Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 at the McMahan Cemetery. T.B. Gentry officiated. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to assist with funeral expenses. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.smithfuneralhomewoodbury.net (615)563-5337.
