School is over and vacations are "on the road".

The Turneys, Todd, Susan, Jordan, Lauren and McKenzie with Susan's mom, Mary Kemp, left out for Hilton Head, SC to relax, watch dolphins and do some deep sea fishing among other fun things.

If you've been down town, you've noticed a new sign up on the old garage. Smitty's Mkt. is now known as Auburn Country Diner with new owner Tabithan Tarpley preparing home cooked meals and the famous huge hand patted hamburgers. Stop in and check it out.

Congratulations to Hattie and Chloe Fann and Bradly Vickers on acing the TCAP Math with scores of 100 each! Way to go!

Vacation Bible School began June 1st at Prosperity Baptist Church. Rylon Morrison of Morrison spent the week here so he could attend. Thursday he had a play date with cousin Kullon Patrick of Murfreesboro. Other playmates were Janna, Alayna, and Adrianna Reed.

Sunday my kids and grandkids treated me to a pizza birthday party topped off with a homemade oatmeal cake and chocolate ice cream also homemade.

Tuesday there was a cookout birthday celebration at our house for Marvin Davenport and Terry Thomas. Terry didn't get to enjoy the festivities due to "haying". A lemon meringue ice box pie for Marvin and homemade peach ice cream for Terry (which we all enjoyed in his absence!) topped off the meal.

It was great getting together with fellow high school graduates. It was Friday, May 30th (and what a great way to celebrate my birthday!) when 7 of our 10 1964 class along with Mrs. Bess Finley met at Billy's Restaurant in McMinnville. What memories were laughed over!

The Auburntown Historical Society is meeting Thursday, June 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Auburntown Church of Christ Fellowship building. Harris and Rob Hooper will be on hand to speak on the Battle of Vaught Hill which took place at Milton during the Civil War. Be sure to come and enjoy.

Lindsay Kraft, Connie Turney and Frank Willard begin our birthday wishes this week on the 11th. Ariel Bailey, Crystal Kennedy and Dianne McAllister add a year on the 12th. Friday the 13th belongs to Lorie Jakes. Martye Harris' is the 14th with Ricky Bryson and Justin Whited celebrating the 15th. Ending the week's worth of birthdays are Roer Turney and Latasha Knox Campbell on the 16th. Happy birthday you all.

June 16, 1979 Janet Davis became the bride of Roger Tate. The following day but a year earlier, Mike Bryson took as his loving wife, Pat Cooper. Happy anniversary to both copules.
