Our sympathy to the King family on the sudden passing of Bill King. He and wife, Peggy, were on their way home last week from vacationing in Florida and visiting friends in Alabama when on I-20 he experienced a massive heart attack.

During the past week, several from here or have loved ones here are experiencing severe health issues. Our prayers and get well wishes go to Holly Gilley Fisher, Ernest Davis, and Danny Jackson.

This news is short due to sending it on Tuesday. P-pa underwent back surgery Wednesday and Friday so I stayed with him in Nashville. He is to come home Monday (yesterday).

There was a good turnout for the fish and chicken fry Saturday the 17th. Principal Melinda Crook thanks everyone for their support.

On the 16th Caitlyn McCrary and Freda Henson get to add a year. The 17th was a popular day for birthdays as Karen Stinnett, Jamey Johnson, Bonnie Hagar, Louise Holden, Karen Neely and Tina Cooper all got cake and ice cream. Katherine Saddler added a year on the 18th while Aaron Vantrease turned 34 on the 19th. Finishing up the wishes on the 20th were April Melton and Chastity Gilley. Hope each of you had a great day.

No anniversaries but hoping all of you have a safe Labor Day weekend.
