Mr. James Lloyal Tassey, 91, a native of Readyville died September 17, 2013. He was born on August 11, 1922. His parents were the late James Ollie Tassey and Bertha (Vaught) Tassey. Also preceding him in death are his wives, Ann (Pitts) Tassey and Mildred (Jones) Tassey; two brothers, Forrest Tassey and Dudley Tassey and three sisters, Rebecca Tassey, Ada Carnahan and Monte Livingston Qualls.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl & Ronnie Johnson of Readyville; brother-in-law, Walden Jones of Nashville; grandchildren, Alan Smithson, Scott & Michele Smithson, Angie & Jeff Graham; step-grandchildren, Teresa & Gary Brooks, Mike & Denise Johnson; great grandchildren, Jacob & Michelle Smithson, Brandy & Daniel Baltz, Jenna & Will Shelton, Jackson Graham, Josh Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Charlie Brooks, Erin Phillips and Phillip Mullins and two great great grandchildren.

Mr. Tassey grew up in Readyville and spent a lot of time around the Readyville Mill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. In early years he liked to go big game hunting in Montana. He was a retired truck driver with Super Service and Time-DC. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 480 in Nashville. Mr. Tassey was also a proud Democrat. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 11 AM until time of service. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Garden at 3 PM. Herb Alsup will officiate.
