NASHVILLE - Tennessee Voices for Children (TVC) honored longtime children’s advocate Sally Swoape of Woodberry with its 2010 Respite Provider of the Year Award during the organization’s Appreciation Night Ceremony, held August 12th at Events @ 1418 to honor those who make a difference in the lives of children and families.

This award is given to an individual who provided excellent respite provider services to families in need. Sally Swoape is received the award in recognition of her countless hours dedicated to providing respite in TVC’s now retired Planned Respite for Families Program.

“The family for which Sally provided respite absolutely adored her and would often call the office to brag about how awesome ‘Miss Sally’ was,” said Charlotte Bryson, TVC’s Executive Director.

“Sally went above and beyond her role, often helping the caregiver with both of her grandchildren, writing letters to legislators about the importance of this program, and finding fun things for the children to do while they were in her care. For Sally it was evident that providing respite was more than a way to earn extra money, it was truly her passion.”

Statewide nonprofit Tennessee Voices for Children speaks out as active advocates for the emotional and behavioral well-being of children and their families. While working for transformation of the Children’s Mental Health system, TVC provides Advocacy, Training, Support, Referral, Prevention, and Early Intervention services.
