OPINION: Obama's Inexperience Is Gushing To The Top

Dear Editor:

Some observations on BP's underwater "oil gusher": This well has been producing thousands of barrels of oil daily into our Gulf waters and onto our coasts now for two (2) months with no end in sight.

BP's CEO, Tony Hayward, and our esteemed leader, Barack Obama, haven't a clue about what to do to stop the spill or clean it up. Their only concern seems to be to save face and place the blame somewhere else.

Hayward and Obama appear to be the two most inept and incompetent individuals around. I have seen a dozen or more people on Fox News Channel that have demonstrated various ways to clean up the oil spill, but BP and the Obama White House have shown no interest when
contacted by these people.

Now I see where private citizens are cleaning up some of the oil spill with "shop vacs". They say they can pick up ninety (90%) percent crude oil and about ten (10%) percent water.

Obama has appointed a White House full of people, including almost forty (40) Czars and nothing has improved yet. Maybe he needs and oil spill Czar.

I have heard of what can happen when inexperienced people are put in positions of responsibility. Now I can see it.

Sincerely,
Bill E. Asbury

Did you read that ridiculous statement on some liberal blog and then come here to pass it off as the truth?

I am not sure what you consider "liberal" Johnny but Bill's letter is conservative to say the least at the total inept way the Obama administration has handled the oil spill in the Gulf.

At best all we have seen is political grandstanding by the White House and the left-wing liberal crybabies who are saying Obama is in control of the situation.

Get your facts straight before you make a comment that makes you look like you are ignorant of reality.

Two weeks prior to the oil rig blowing up the BP company was one of three oil company finalists for an environmental and safety award to be given by President Obama himself and every indication is they were going to win it. When the oil well blew, the Obama administration cancelled the ceremony.

The Governor of Lousiana begged the Coast Gaurd and Obama administration for two weeks prior to oil spilling into the swamps of LA to allow them to put barriers up to stop the flow. The Coast Gaurd said BP was in charge and BP said the Coast Gaurd was in charge.

It is day 60 and the United States Government who can put a man on the moon can't stop a leaking oil rig. Had this been George Bush everyone of you haters would have found a cross and crucified him to it for not doing anymore than our current useless President is doing.

His (President Obama) words and I quote from a speech he made "make no mistake, I am in charge and I am responsible for getting this mess straight".

Sounds like to me the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. And by the way, Obama is left handed.

Do you have a link to that poll?
June 19, 2010 at 8:53pm
All four of the writers of the article work for MSNBC, not exactly a source of information that can be called non-partisan. That station is, in fact, the most partisan of the cable news outlets.

Now, discounting the fact the poll was taken a half-year before the passage of the final bill, just ask yourself these questions:

1) Do Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid all want free healthcare for illegal immigrants?

2) Do all three want a government takeover of the health system?

3) Do they want taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions?

4) Do you believe there should be rationing of health care for the elderly?

I believe the answer to all four is yes, but you don't have to take my word for it. They freely and willingly say so themselves. To them ObamaCare was just the first step, not the last.

But anyway SmilinJack, you are doing a great job of distracting the issue away from Obama's blatant incompetence with regard to the clean up of the oil spill and his overall handling of the crisis. You would make him proud.

Don't get your panties in a wad doolittle, I was referring to Jack's statement, not the letter.

Thanks Kevin for your rebuttal on the whole FOX news vs. MSNBC since if FOX News is all I watch then I "stand a good chance of becoming a cultural illiterate" as Smilin Jack seems to think.

I love it when liberals like to try and explain to you how wrong you are and tell you how culturally illiterate you are for watching or listening to only one source of news and then quote only one liberal source for their own argument.

Liberals believe that government knows how to run your lives better than you do, they believe in universal health care with no consequence of the cost now or 50 years from now, they spout the need for cleaner fossil fuels while offering no solution to our current dependency on foreign oil.

They believe in the rights of a woman to choose to abort an unborn child who is alive in the womb and then scream to bury a person under the jail who accidently kills a pregnant woman in a car crash.

They believe it is cruel and inhumane treatment to execute an inmate who has brutally raped a woman and beat her to death because the prisoner has rights. Never mind the victims rights!

I could go on and on but what's the use, they will always believe they are never responsible for anything they do or say.

It is day 62 and President Obama who says "Make no mistake, I am in charge of the oil spill" is still doing nothing. But, to a liberal who believes Obama is the 2nd coming of the Messiah can do nothing more than to bash ex-President Bush about Kathrina. Nice 4th grade comeback!

P.S. I didn't quote anything I heard from FOX News or any other source. I made all of my statements about liberals based on their speeches, their written statements and the creed they live by.

I took SJ's advice and got two opposite view points on an identical story. CBS reported this morning that Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, was upset with BP's Tony Hayward for attending a yacht race while all this oil is gushing into our gulf waters and that is where the story ended. This, of coarse makes us mad that he is enjoying his life like nothing happened.

Now tune into Fox News and you will hear that while Rom was chastising Tony Obumer was attending baseball games and then spending almost 5 hrs. playing golf. I wonder why CBS didn't report on that?

Hey Jack you left out a lot of the facts on the so called Health Care Reform Act, like how it actually increases health care spending in the US, how it increases health care costs, how it increases health care insurance premiums, how it increases health care spending for businesses, and how it increases the budget deficit and national debt.

I deleted all other comments since it appeared they strayed too far from the subject matter--hope no one finds this post annoying and distracting. It is all about oil.
Let’s see now, we have Obama an incompetent leader and we can clean up the oil along the shore line with shop-vacs to go along with Republican Joe Barton apologizing to BP ($20 billion set aside might affect contributions coming in) plus Republicans and conservatives blaming the disaster on an Act of God (and Obama) and more Republicans and conservatives praying for God (and Obama?) to stop the leak (guess they figure if God did it, God can stop up it) with Jindal and other conservatives and Republicans, who like those chants Drill, Baby, Drill and Drill Here, Drill Now, wanting to crank up again without safeguards in place to prevent another disaster like this one (guess they feels since it was an Act of God and citing the Red Sea Parting and Noah’s Flood, are sure it won’t happen again).

Can’t get much funnier that all that.

In case you missed the latest news SJ: "Judge blocks Gulf offshore drilling moratorium" from AP.

And in case you failed to see the follow up --from WSJ: The White House responded to the ruling Tuesday by saying it would immediately appeal the injunction. It is unlikely that many companies will jump to restart drilling, given the complex legal maneuvering likely to come.

Well let's see why Joe Barton apologized.

Could it be because the Obama administration who has been in office for 15 months prior to the oil rig disater had done nothing to regulate all of the problems it now suddenly sees with BP and oil rigs? Or maybe it is because the Democratically controlled Senate and House who have been in control since 2007 did nothing and are still doing nothing?

Could it be because now the Obama administration has decided that all drilling should be stopped based on one accident. (Using that theory we should all stop driving cars because Toyota has a recall and there were several hundred crashes in the USA yesterday alone).

Could it be because the Obama administration black mailed BP into setting aside 20 billion for a clean up process that it has no authority to do?

Could it be because the Obama administration stated that they will require BP to set the money aside and it will be monitored and administered by an independent party that they have no authority to do?

Watching Obama walk around on the beach with his pants rolled up to his ankles picking up tar balls makes me feel so good about his ability to take care of this oil spill.

Listening to you lament your messiah while trying to ignore the fact that BP was the largest contributing oil company of the Obama election campaign makes me about as sick and repulsed as the pelicans who are covered in the oil from BP that your president was scheduled to give an award to a week before the accident for safety.

11 killed, wildlife in the waters and along the shore suffering hugely, billions of dollars lost in income from those people who depend on the fishing and climate of that area to provide them with a living--all caused by a company who shortchanged the safety reqirements necessary to prevent such accidents--from a company that killed 15 in Texas by neglecting safety --and now we have people apologizing for the government making BP set aside $20 billion to help offset the losses being incurred by those in the area. And here in Cannon County we have those that are dismayed at the $20 billion set aside--agreeing with Barton! $14 billion in profit last year, $6 billion in the 1st quarter of this year---Struggling company holding on to keep afloat?
Put aside your dislike of Obama and feel some empathy and sorrow for those that lost family and those losing their incomes and jobs and generate some feeling for the desvastation of wildlife and coast line in that area!

I will gladly lay aside my dislike for an inept President when you lay aside your hipocrisy and liberal comments.

I certainly sympathize with the families who lost loved ones due to the negligence of the BP company and the current and past governments. I certainly sympathize with the residents along the Gulf Coast who have lost millions due to the oil spill.

And if you want to know my personal opinion, $20 billion is not enough. There is no price that can be paid worth those 11 lives.

You accuse people of being illiterate to the facts since you think me and everyone else only watches FOX news. Then you spout out your dislike for Joe Barton, BP and and your best comeback is to bring up George Bush who hasn't been in office for 18 months.

You and every other typical liberal can't seem to grasp the idea that your point would be much better recieved and even listened to if you weren't so blind to the truth. Your party has control of the House, the Senate and the Presidency and you can't get your liberal agenda passed because the American people don't want it.

Your president and your congress now has the lowest approval rating it has ever had. Obamas's top general knows he is inept, the economy is still in the tank, we are on day 67 of an environmental oil spill with no end in site, and the list goes on and on.

As a conservative, I personally am open to new ideas, new suggestions and compromises. You as a liberal can think of nothing more than making me accept what you believe to be true.

Looks like the Appeals Court confirmed that Obama's offshore drilling was illegal.

Let's not forget that Obama was the largest single recipient of BP campaign donations.

Obama's hand picked appointees at the Department of the Interior and the MMS gave BP a waiver for the Deepwater Horizon last year.

But it is all on Bush and BP, eh Jack?
