Funeral services for Virginia "Billie" Agnes Ash Jernigan will be held in the chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010, with William Harris officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jernigan, 76, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Stones River Hospital following an extended illness.

She was a resident of Woodbury and a native of Smith County. She was a CNT and a beloved homemaker, a member of the congregation of Yaweh and a member of the Hardee's Liars Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan Ash and Ruth Thomas Ash, and a brother, Charles Ash.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Byrl Jernigan of Woodbury; nine children, Barbara (William) Harris of Lebanon, Peggy (Tim) Eatherly of Lebanon, Tammie (Robin) Cook of Gordonsville, Cindy (Stacy) Taylor of Tellico Plains, Stephen (Vicki) Jernigan of Rockvale, Eric (Jessica) Jernigan of Manchester, Deborah Gilley of Woodbury, Ellen (James) Penn of Manchester, Byrl Wayne Jernigan Jr. of Morrison; and a brother, Hugh Thomas as of Carthage.

She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Oh I am so sorry to the family. I just found out by checking the past obits. Mrs. Virginia was a fun loving person who I and my husband enjoyed so much at Hardee's......I also so her in the nursing home and always had that wonderful smile.........again I am so very sorry for all our loss....
Sarah and Jubba Womack also members of the Hardee's Liars Club........
