* Timing: a wintry mix of sleet... freezing rain... and possibly a a light snow... will begin by late this morning or early afternoon... and continue through the rest of the day. The precipitation is expected to become mixed with rain this evening... then change to all rain around midnight... or shortly thereafter.

* Accumulations: total ice accumulations from one tenth inch up to one quarter inch are expected through tonight. Largest ice accumulations should occur in the most northern counties. Only light snow accumulation is expected.

* Impacts: ice accumulations of these amounts will create havoc on roadways and add tremendous weight to trees and power lines... with the possibility of power and telephone outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.


Today: A chance of freezing rain and sleet before noon, then a chance of snow, freezing rain, and sleet. Cloudy, with a high near 32. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: Rain or freezing rain, becoming all rain after midnight. Temperature rising to around 39 by 5am. South southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible.

Thursday: A 50 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 43. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest.

Thursday Night: A chance of rain or freezing rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday: A slight chance of rain or freezing rain. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: A chance of freezing rain and sleet. Cloudy, with a low around 30. North northwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. North northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.
