Sheriff's Mother Arrested For Criminal Trespass

The mother of Cannon County Sheriff Darrell Young was arrested on Nov. 25 by a sheriff's deputy.

Jimmie Joy Young, who lives on Short Mountain Road, is charged with criminal trespass.

According to the arrest citation sworn out by Deputy Randy Neal, Jimmie Young "did unlawfully enter the residence of Mr. Russell Hunter. Ms. Young was asked to leave the property by Mr. Hunter and she would not leave.

"Ms. Young was removing Mr. Hunter's personal property out of the house and placing it in an out building. Ms. Young is in violation of T.C.A. 39-14-405."

Hunter rents the residence in question from Ms. Young.

Bond as fixed at $1,000. Ms. Young was released on her own recognizance. Initial court date is Dec. 9 in Cannon County General Sessions Court.

And sometimes as people get "older" their state of mind is not always as clear as it was when they were "younger." I can only imagine how the gossip hounds will take this piece of news.

This really has nothing to do with the Sheriff, besides being his mother. He is not responsible for his families actions.

I agreee with smokeybear702 & wbrysoldier this has nothing at all to do with the sheriff other than it's his mother, like the saying goes, we can claim OUR family, we can love them, amd walk with them but we can't always make our families make the right choices but THEY ARE STILL OUR FAMILY, REGUARDLESS.
