Traffic Stop Results In 11th Charge For DORL

A Murfreesboro man who was stopped by Cannon County Sheriff's deputies faces his 11th charge of Driving on a Revoked License.

Deputy Steve McMillen met with Deputy Brandon Mims on John Bragg Highway at the Cannon/Rutherford county line the morning of Nov. 6 following a report of a possible drunk driver. While at the county line, Deputy Mims observed a Dodge Dakota matching the description of the BOLO drive past their location.

Deputy McMillen made contact with the vehicle on Bradyville Road. He asked the driver, Daniel E. Hazel, 903 Brookfield Dr., Murfreesboro, for his license. Hazel informed McMillen he did not have one. McMillen ran a check of Hazel's name and date or birth, and learned that Hazel's license was revoked for failure to pay fines. It was also learned Hazel was out on bond for an offense in Rutherford County.

Bond for Hazel was set at $30,000. Initial court date is Dec. 14.

Other recent charges filed by local law enforcement include:

Mandi Dawn Sullivan, 433 Holmes Creek Rd., Smithville, was charged with DUI and Traffic Control Device/Signal Violation on Nov. 2 by Tennessee High Patrol Trooper Donnie Clark following a one-vehicle  crash on Judge Purser Hill Rd. at Short Mountain Rd. The crash injured Sullivan along with a passenger. According to the citation, Sullivan was unable to do field sobriety tests due to her injuries, but was belligerent and her speech was slurred. Initial court date is Nov. 23.

Anthony Lee Parker, 3460 Bradyville Rd., Woodbury, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License on Nov. 4 by Woodbury Police Ptl. John Fesmire following a traffic stop on West Main St. Initial court date is Dec. 14.

Harold M. Prater, 2164 Cherry Springs Rd., Woodbury, was charged with DUI 2nd Offense on Nov. 3 by WPD Ptl. John Fesmire following a traffic stop at Quick Shop Market. According to the citation, Prater had the odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person and alcohol was present in his vehicle. Bond was set at $4,000. Initial court date is Dec. 14.

Keith Abraham McMackins, 1261 Tassey Rd., Readyville, was charged with Possession of Untaxed Liquor on Nov. 4 by WPD Ptl. John Fesmire following a traffic stop on Meadowbrook Drive. Initial court date is Dec. 14.

Arnett Waymen McNeal Jr, 209 Orville Duke Rd., Morrison, was charged with Driving Without a License on Nov. 4 by CCSD Reed Bryson following a traffic stop on Orville Duke Rd. Initial court date is Dec. 7.

Anthony Paul Lecuyer, 935 Simpson Rd., Bradyville, was charged with Failure to Notify Accident on Nov. 2 by CCSD Deputy Matthew Parsley. Lecuyer was allegedly involved in an accident on Parker Rd., which he later admitted to after being stopped for another traffic violation. Initial court date is Dec. 14.

Ronnie Lynn Lattimore, 10868 Short Mountain Hwy., Smithville, was charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana on Nov. 6 by WPD Sgt. John House. Initial court date is Dec. 14.

Shame on the LEGAL SYSTEM,this should be 10 years with no time off the sentence.The judges need to send a message

How can these people drive without license and insurance and get away with it time after time, our neighbor is the same way, no insurance, and no license and here he is driving on the roads EVERY DAY of the year, what is wrong here. And I have to pay high insurance, can't anything be done about this problem.If it was me I would be in Jail.
