Woodbury Police Issue New Three Way Stop Advisory

There is a new three way stop in the Town of Woodbury. After consulting with the town's engineer it was determined that a three way stop needed to be constructed at the intersection of Leehman St. and College St. This will be hard for people to get used to.

We have been sure to mark it as best as we can to insure that it is visible and properly marked. I hope this will have a positive effect on this busy street.

A recent study showed that between 700 and 800 vehicles per day travel this street. It is also a popular thoroughfare for some children who walk to school and is also a busy street for the patrons who use the library.

We are hoping that this will slow down the traffic and make it a safer intersection.

Not needed, just another place to write tickets to add to the city coffers.

It seems to me that this is another example of officials just looking for something to do. I guess if they don't busy themselves then it would require cutbacks and we certainly would not want family members without jobs.

If you stop at the STOP sign, you won't get a ticket. People fly through there at all times of the day. There are children walking to school, people walking their dog and others out for a stroll. The police are trying to keep our neighborhoods safe.

There was already a stop sign. There was already a speed limit. Why are we spending money to fix something that wasn't broken. What a waste of money.
