What IS happening in Washington?

From time to time I see releases from Bart Gordon's camp on some various accomplishment he wants his Tennessee constituents to know about. But what else are Bart and the Washington Democrats involved in?

Feb 13, 2009 Voted FOR Economic Stimulus Pkg HR1 (862 Billion for pork barrel projects, state grants and government jobs-added to national debt).

June 26, 2009 Voted FOR American Clean Energy & Security Act HR2454 (Created a new government bureaucracy to regulate carbon emissions leading to Billions in new taxes on energy consumed).

July 24, 2009 Voted AGAINST Pence Amendment HR3293 (would have prohibited federal funds from going to planned parenthood if passed).

Nov 7, 2009 Voted AGAINST applying Stupak-Pitts language to Senate version of Obamacare HR3962 (would have prohibited Taxpayer Funded Abortions if passed).

March 21, 2010 Voted FOR the Reconciliation Act of 2010 (Obamacare) - we knew about this one - cost 1 Trillion, cut medicare 500 billion and will ration healthcare.

December 9, 2009 Voted FOR Tax Extension act of 2009 HR4213 (increases taxes on small business owners while spending 140 billion).

May 28, 2010 Voted FOR the National Defense Authorization Act HR5136 (Repealed Don't Ask Don't tell policy in military. Military no longer able to discharge gays.)

June 24, 2010 Voted FOR the Disclosure Act HR5175 (restricts free speech for anti-tax and pro-family organizations while exempting labor unions).

June 30, 2010 Voted FOR the Dodd-Frank bill HR4173. (More bureaucracy to regulate the financial industry with new taxes on community banks and small business).

Sept 29, 2010 Voted For Adjourning the House without addressing the extension of Bush tax cuts which are due to expire 1/1/2011. By doing this the house has postponed this vote till after the election so their vote as well as the future of the extension of the tax cuts is UNKNOWN. Hmm? For you info this includes the Death Tax - you can't leave your business or farm to the family without what is proposed by Democrats as a 25% to 40% tax on assets.

I don't think Bart's constituents sent him to Washington to vote in this manner. We the voters in district 6 must be educated and better informed as to what is taking place in Washington. We must elect someone on November 2nd to represent us and that votes the will of the majority of his/her constituents.

We cannot sit idly by and allow our congressman to continue to vote what is in HIS best interest. We must be very cautious in the election that we don't elect anyone for ANY office who could be influenced by the current Washington administration and/or organized labor or is beholding to them for financial support or future job offers.

Our next election must be for candidates who are successful business men/women of integrity and not a career politician. In short we need a change in political parties in the 6th district NOW. Don't be fooled again by hollow promises only to be superceded by backroom deals that only benefit the politician.

How does all this sit with the retirees like myself now that we know there will be no cost of living increase to our social security checks again in 2011?

Brat Gordon saw the writing on the wall. Now he's showing his true colors. Smooth move - everyone who voted for this clown.

Ah, the cruelest cut of all---no increase in my Social Security--James, you're right, let's keep the "government from messing around with our Social Security".
