Dangerous driving conditions... though the Winter Storm Warning and significant snowfall has ended over the mid state... most roadways are snow covered and dangerous. The dangerous driving conditions are expected to continue through tonight. Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution. Allow extra time to reach your destination and slow down.

AS TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO FALL BELOW FREEZING THROUGH DAYBREAK SUNDAY...RESIDUAL WATER OR SLUSH ON AREA ROADWAYS COULD FREEZE CREATING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.ROADS THAT ARE MOST PRONE TO DEVELOPING BLACK ICE WILL BE SECONDARY
LESS-TRAVELED ROADS...AS WELL AS ELEVATED SURFACES SUCH AS BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON AS TEMPERATURES WARM ABOVE FREEZING.

BLACK ICE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT TO DETECT...ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL TONIGHT OR EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...USE EXTREME CAUTION. SLOW DOWN AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.

...WINTER STORM TOTALS ACROSS MID TENNESSEE...



THE FOLLOWING ARE SNOW AND MIXED PRECIPITATION TOTALS RECEIVED FROM LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL BETWEEN 6 AM AND 7 AM CST.



MANY REPORTS OF ICE ON TREES AND OTHER SURFACES WERE RECEIVED FROM LOCATIONS ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 40. SIGNIFICANT ICE PROBLEMS INCLUDING DOWNED LIMBS AND POWER OUTAGES WERE REPORTED IN THE FAR SOUTHWEST COUNTIES OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE (LAWRENCE AND WAYNE COUNTIES). SIGNIFICANT POWER OUTAGES WERE ALSO REPORTED IN DEKALB COUNTY.

You guys should stick up a webcam somewhere so misplaced Cannon Countiens could look in on the homeplace from time to time. We don't get to see much snow down here in Georgia.
