Meeting set on mental health facilities

A meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 13 at the Courthouse to discuss several mental health support facilities that have popped up over Cannon County.

A citizens’ group formed following an incident that occurred on Good Friday near Sycamore Creek Road.
A resident of Life Center for a New Tomorrow, 220 Sunshine Lane, left the facility and went missing for several days. During this time, the man allegedly slept in someone’s barn, broke into a shop and took food and cattle medicine. Ultimately, the man was discovered and LifeFlighted to Vanderbilt Hospital.

Other incidents involving Life Center residents have also been reported with five similar centers located in Cannon County, a citizens group was formed in an attempt to control these facilities.
