News from the Mountain

By CAROL GUNTER

Rainy weather keeps plaquing us around here. The way the weatherman is forecast has it there is no let up coming any time soon from the rain.

Did you stop and praise on Memorial Day and realize our freedom is only sustained by those brave men and women who watch over tis country by serving in our armed forces? They do to foreign lands to fight an enemy that wants to destroy us. I hope you thanked them for all the sacrifices they make to keep us safe and that you prayed for their safe return. We know that some of them will not return alive as they will give the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Freedom comes at a high price but it is so worth it at whatever cost. We must protect that freedom that we all enjoy.

Please keep the following people in your prayers: Carlon Melton and Mai Nell, Denise Stanton and Charlie Mai Daniel.

Pastor Chris Moore's sermon on Sunday was "Homes Under Attack". We surely all know the loser is working overtime to do us in one way or another. We must stand our ground for God and never waiver. So many different avenues the loser came come at us: our kids, our home environment, on the job, our marriage. The times that prevail now will only get worse. If you haven't accepted Jesus, no better time to do that than right now. It will be a life changing moment for you like you've never experienced before.
