Spring-like temperatures around these parts. Unbelievable that I can sit out on our patio in the middle of January. Flowers are so mixed up as they think spring has sprung. Just wondering how long this is gonna last? I do not like the coldness of winter but we do need it to freeze out the insects that literally bug us to no end. It's gonna hurt us really bad, when this weather gets frigid again and probably make some sick in the process.

Super Bowl coming up on Sunday February 5th, with the New England Patriots playing the Atlanta Falcons in what should be a good match up between these two well-coached teams. They both have outstanding quarterbacks in Tom Brady for the Patriots and Matt Ryan for the Falcons.

Do you remember years ago this Alfred Hitchcock movie thriller about the Birds are Coming or something on that order being the title? Not any birds coming only drones these days. I, of course, have no way of predicting the future, but I was right on the money about the problems that 'drones' would cause as if we didn't have enough to be worried about in our daily lives. Heard of one drone being shot down by a homeowner who had enough of the nuisance hanging around his property. My hat, if I was wearing one, is off to you sir as it probably had its demise coming. If another one bothers you in this way, I say take it out of existence in any way you see fit.

When there is an intrusion into a person's privacy by a drone, it's getting exactly what it's asking for by being shot down. On the news, burglars are using the drones to spy or case out places in order to break in to homes or businesses to steal valuable items. Did someone turn the off switch to their brain in not knowing this was coming? Perfect scenario for thieves and the low-life's to have a field day taking from decent hard working people what they worked so hard for.

Speaking of low-life's, those moles burrowing at a more rapid pace now it seems with more of their family I fear taking refuge in our yard. If they want war, then that is what they'll get. A triple dose of bubble gum is coming their way shortly. As I told you before, someone advised me to use Sevin Dust sprinkling the powder where the moles have disturbed the ground. The moles are after grub worms and the Sevin Dust will kill the grubs and the moles will leave out without that food supply. If the bubble gun lets me down, I've got some of the Sevin Dust out in our garage. Three options I can see about getting rid of our mole problem are: Bubble gun, Sevin Dust, and maybe the aliens being called in to do them in as I don't do shoveling as it hurts my feelings / hands to do that sort of thing but I'm sure the little green men know a lot about tunneling underground and could wipe out the moles in no time. I'll leave it up to Clyde and Bobby to get in touch with them, if I see I need them.

Even though the aliens and I made peace with each other Christmas Eve with the olive branch, Clyde and Bobby usually have way too much time on their hands and this would make their lives worth living and keep them out of trouble by doing a good deed. Aliens are now happy with all of us and have told Clyde and Bobby they are planning an even better Christmas Eve get0together this year by stringing those icicle lights on our house. I told Bobby and Clyde that can't be done but they have assured me it can be done as the aliens are licensed by the state for this and could even drive that little John Deere tractor of Aubrey's and help out in the mowing around here in the summer time and who knows what else they could do? The cow and that rabbit they would keep in their sights most of the time but not when they took their thirty minute break after working twenty minutes at most. Appears to me it's not so much the moles I should be concerned about but the aliens trying to take over. Will call a board meeting to clear the air and let the aliens know, if I need them, they will be notified by me and only me!

Ann Warren and family all doing well. So is Ruth Brown and family. Glad these that have been sick are doing better. Be praying for Denise Stanton, Edith Miller, the family of Steve Stanley, Carlon and Mai Nell Melton, and Charlie Mai Daniel.

February birthdays coming up: John Michael Pitts and Kelli Rowland 5th, our grandson Chandler Johnson and Alene Ferrell 7th, AJ Neal 10th, our daughter Kristie Johnson 11th, Walter Ferrell 12th, Jared Fults 15th, Hunter Underwood 16th and Betty Barnes 22nd. Wishing all of you a Happy Birthday from Carol.

I had a wonderful conversation with my cousin Lou Davis Higgins this past week. She's doing good and still has that great sense of humor she's had for as long as I've know her. She is now 97 years old and gives thanks daily to God for the blessings He bestows upon her. Grateful to be here this long, but knows heaven will be her grand prize someday, when she's finally home with Jesus the One who saved her soul a long time ago. Love Ya, Lou Davis. Quite a treasure you are!
