A beautiful day up here on the mountain. No rain overnight with the cold front that came through. Sure was hoping a good steady rain would come in to quench the soil's thirst that is in such a dire need of it, because of the moderate drought we find ourselves in. November is about here and thoughts of rainy days with the temperatures getting cooler not too far off I imagine.

Looking forward to November arriving and that special Thanksgiving Day Dinner and most likely me eating too much. I always thank the Lord each and everyday for all the many blessings He bestows upon me. Seems like at Thanksgiving you want to express that even more with your family and loved ones that will gather round for a day of delicious food and fellowship. Have you noticed most everyone piles their plate full of food and east way too much and then says I simply couldn't eat another bite, because I'm so stuffed (sort of like that turkey adorning your dining room table I guess) but after taking a break from the eating, they go back and get another helping of food and top it off with some kind of heavenly tasting dessert and they wonder why they are so miserable? I've done that so many times over the years at Thanksgiving that it has become a habit with me and old habits are hard to break aren't they? So much food that it's hard to resist for anyone isn't it? About the time you've recovered from Thanksgiving then Christmas arrives on the scene so here we go again.

Speaking of Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year for me. Celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's birthday and how much He loves us no matter what is going on in our lives as He is the only true friend we will every have. Always by our side is Jesus to get us through the hardships that come our way. What a friend we have in Jesus. No better words to be singing of His greatness and love for all of us. Wish everyone would accept Him in their lives and then they would know what so many of us already know deep down inside of us about the peace that only He can give you that passeth all human understanding. A new creature in Christ Jesus you will be as there is no better feeling you will ever have in your life. All you have to do is ask Him with a sincere heart of humbleness to forgive you of your sins and that you want Him in your life to be your Lord and personal Savior. He will accept you as you are and in time your way of living your life He will help your change to let others know around you the difference Jesus has made in your life. Hopefully, others will see Jesus through you and want Him, too, in their lives.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Jeffrey Lynn Bogle age 52 and also the family of Paul Lester Seals age 97 in their passing. Please keep these two families in your prayers for the loss of their dear loved ones.

We have some others to be praying for also: Fay Pitts, Ruth Brown, Edith Miller, Charlie Mai Daniel, Carlon and Mai Melton, and Denise Stanton.

Did you see on TV where this organutan escaped from a Kansas zoo the other day? Good news about this as the orangutan came back to return to her fenced in enclosure. One of two things may have made her return home. She saw the awful state of affairs this world is in and realized how good she had it made in that enclosure, or she got around some of those little green men and found out that what all she had heard about their existence here was true and she wanted to live a lot longer than what those little aliens probably had in mind of her being quite a tasting treat at suppertime back at the devil's hold. We all know that no such little green men are living among us don't we? So I guess that orangutan saw enough of what was going on outside and didn't want any part of it. I think she made a good decision.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and lead me in the way everlasting.
