News from the Mountain

By CAROL GUNTER

Didn't know we were gonna have a cloudy morning on this first day of another work week. Will be nice outside for a while until the sun pops out. Count everyday a good day, if you can get out and stir around to do what you love to do.
God gives us so much to be happy about, if we will just acknowledge it. Many chances we are given to praise Him and to let others know of Him. We are His servants and let us be found tending the fields for the harvest of souls for the Lord's kingdom.

Been watching some old shows that used to be on TV back in the day. Really amused by the Jeffersons and all the funny episodes that had you laughing out loud. George (Louise's husband) the funniest character by far. They were all good at acting but George really stood out.

After April 15th, so a lot of gardens planted now for a bountiful harvest of good veggies later on to eat and put up for the winter. Always good to put up an ample supply of garden vegetables whether freezing or canning them for the winter months ahead. Too early to even think about predicting the winter season. Just need to be ready in case it gets nasty on us. Would just love as I've said before to have a snow on Christmas Eve. Fetching a cup of hot cocoa to drink with the miniature marshmallows on top would be a treat as the snow is falling and would be so delightful. I know I'm not the only "kid" that would love that.

Beverly and rick Hubler doing well. Talked with Bev on Wednesday.

Lynn and Brenda Underwood and Hunter helping me with getting large plants in pots where I wanted them placed on Aubrey's mom and dad's porch. Have to keep them in our garage to save them from the cold of winter weather freezing them out. This tradition has been going on for a lot of years now.

On our prayer list are a number of people to uplift daily: Fay Pitts, Ruth Brown, Edith Miller, Charlie Mai Daniel, Donna Lawson, Denise Stanton, and family of Macon Wade, and Carlon and Mai Nell Melton.

Are you going to be wearing a hat on Mother's Day, Sunday May 8th? A hat just tops off your outfit for that day. Been told by several ladies at church they're going to be wearing hats so, of course, I'll be wearing one, too. If you're into hats, I just say plop one on your head and enjoy the look and certainly by all means enjoy your day!
Last Sunday Chris Moore our new pastor doing a fantastic job in the sermon he delivered. We all have talents given to us by God. Everyone is different but we all have a part in God's plan for this world's salvation. So many it seems think that this world will go on like this forever. It won't. Whenever we least expect it, Christ will return for those people that have accepted Him. Witness to people about Jesus wherever you go. He will give you the opportunity, if you will only obey Him. Days, I feel, so short now as I believe Jesus is coming back is at hand as I see how bad people are carrying on in this world. We have someone in Jesus Christ to be so happy about so pass it along how good He is. Each soul is so precious and we want no one to be left out of the Kingdom of God. Really by how you conduct yourself each and everyday by what you "say and do" in the presence of others will a seed be planted and they will want Jesus in their life, too. That is how it works. We're not to judge only God is to do that.

Got to be extra careful with everything being green around here now. This is a super good camouflage for those 'little green men' wouldn't you think? They probably blend in with all my surroundings and I'm, I guess, fair game to them anytime they choose. Clyde and Bobby telling me they won't let any of them hurt me. (Don't you know I'm feeling reassured and really good, if those two are watching out for me?) Not really. They're too busy still fussing about that election to care about what the little green fellas are up and how they might just do me in.
