News from the Mountain

By CAROL GUNTER

It is a wonderful Friday morning with the pink and white dogwood trees blooming so profusely across the road at Aubrey's mom and dad's place. A beautiful sight for sure as springtime is continuing to be ushered in so quickly it seems. This has definitely been a good week to get outside and take in all this beauty of nature that is going on right in front of us. Love the country way of living life we have up here on the mountain. Being laidback and taking things in stride the only way to be and doing good by your neighbors a good motto to always follow.

Last week I talked with Betty Gunter. She is doing pretty good but does need our prayers. Miss Kitty and Misty her kitty cats have the "Life of Riley" going on

A few days ago spotted our neighbor Alene Ferrell doing some walking on the road as she often does, when I was going down to the home place. I also saw Fay Hale out in her yard the other day. Guess she was probably doing some yard work as so many are doing

I think NASA may have finally, but finally, caught on about those little green men I have been telling you about in the column for so long. A NASA spokeswoman telling that there could be life as in aliens on other planets. Someone needs to tell her they left their planet a long time ago and have been here for decades. Could NASA be this far behind on the little green men's colony or headquarters here on the mountain? Don't think so. I or no one else knows for sure but they have been getting enough information through the column to know something is going on at that devil's hole according to at least 2 people. I can't tell you their names as it is an attorney - client confidentiality thing that prevents me from doing that. We really can't have this story getting blown out of proportion but we need to get to the bottom of what's real and what has simply been made up. No one holding their breath as to the outcome of what the reality could be on those little aliens but it's fun to imagine that they might actually be for real and the notoriety would only enhance the welcoming format we have for anyone to come to this beautiful locality that is becoming an ever popular tourist attraction to only a handful of people as I would guess (if I were a guessing person and believed all of this nonsense) that would be really all we could handle on a one day a week basis and then only for a short term be allowed. I hope you understand the pressure this could put us all under if the aliens are really here, but we will only cross that bridge when we come to it

Burley Bogle up at the store the other day and we had one more delightful conversation about the Lord. Not a better topic to be talking about. Ralph and Debby were doing okay while I was there

Please keep these people in prayer: the Thurman Bogle family, Edith Miller, Kathy Martin, Trena Curtis, Denise Stanton, Bernie Braswell, Jeff Brown, A.J. Neal, Carlon and Mai Nell Melton, and Donna Lawson.

Sure hated to hear about James Best, age 88, passing away the other day. He played Roscoe P. Coltrain on the Dukes of Hazzard TV show. I loved the show like a lot of you did.
If you have any news for the column, just give me a call at (615) 563-4429. Have a great day!

Then shall the Kind say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me, I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Matthew 25: 34-36
