New Events Eyed For Red Apple Day

The Auburntown City Council met Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. for their regular monthly meeting. Mayor, Roger Turney and Councilpersons; Rita Davis, Tina Fletcher and Winfred Gaither were present.

The minutes of the March meeting was approved as presented by the City Recorder.

The Financial report was approved as presented by the City Treasurer. Balance of funds on deposited was $44,033.26

The Mayor gave a report on the extension on the utility water lines up Hurricane Creek Rd. The Contractor laying the lines is making excellent progress during this wonderful spring-like weather we are having.

Discussion of Red Apple Day took up most of the remaining time for this meeting. Several new items planned for this year’s event are:

A Dog show is planned for Saturday with a $5.00 entrance fee.

A Corn Hole Tournament with official rules and equipment. .

A “Miss Red Apple Day Queen”. (Must apply by 4-30-10).

Booth rentals are $25.00 with electricity or $15.00 without elect.
