Nancy Naomi Smith Barrett

Mrs. Nancy Naomi Smith Barrett age 89 of McMinnville, TN, (Centertown Community) died Monday, October 22, 2012, at her residence. She was born October 22, 1923, in Warren County, TN, was a retired employee of Genesco Shoe, a homemaker, and a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by parents Floyd and Ethel Bell Smith,  husband Walter Malcolm Barrett, sisters Velma Fugiett, Annie Lee Todd, Alice Steed, and Hilmer Ward Hale, a brother Forrest Raymon Smith, and sons-in-law Billy E. Prater, Bobby M. Hutchins, and Lane Elkins.

 Survivors include her daughters June Prater, Bonnie Elkins Prater and Allen, Faye Hutchins Cunningham and Billy, and Louree Walker and Sammy, her son Leo Barrett and Teresa all of McMinnville, TN, sisters Audrey Gaunt and Nonnie Matheny, and brothers Charlie Ray Smith and Willie T. Smith and Dorothy. 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren also survive.

 Funeral service is 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Center Hill Baptist Church. Bro. Greg Mitchell and Bro. John Padgett will officiate. Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery in Cannon County, TN. The Barrett Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 P.M. until 9 P.M. and Wednesday from 9 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. Also, the family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. at Center Hill Bap tist Church, 2513 Short Mtn. Rd., Woodbury, TN  37190.
