Amber Nicole Taggart was charged with aggravated assault after she attempted to set her jail cell on fire on March 19. Deputy Derrick Morrison and Sgt. Ethan Curtis responded, coming in connect with Corrections Deputy Mandy Edwards who advised that Inmate McTaggart and inmate Blair had ripped pages from a book and set them on fire in the cell. "Inmate McTaggart immediately became verbally combative with Deputy Edwards and Sgt. Curtis when she was asked to step out of the cell," Deputy Morrison reported. When McTaggart refused to come out of the cell she had to be physically removed by Sgt. Curtis and placed in a restraint chair. In the process, she allegedly attempted to come out of the chair and physically attack Deputy Edwards. At the point, she was pepper sprayed and kept restrained while deputies searched the cells and inmates. Once she calmed down, McTaggart was released from the chair and allowed in the female recreation yard to walk in the fresh air.
